FEATURED ON:

What is Orthodontics?

Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry relating to the treatment of teeth alignment. Not only does good teeth alignment enhance a beautiful smile, but it can also improve jaw and chewing function for a healthier one. Perfectly aligned teeth are also easy for you to keep clean, ensuring healthy gums and ongoing good oral health.

What orthodontic treatments do you offer?

Dr Safa has completed a Diploma in Clear Aligner Therapy, meaning she is an expert in providing highly personalised treatment plans using Invisalign clear braces.

What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign ® uses a sequence of clear, removable aligners – described as a thin shield coating the teeth – which are changed weekly and gently move teeth into their desired position. They are barely visible, so most people will not even know you’re wearing them.

How does Invisalign® work?

Invisalign® revolutionises your smile using a series of bespoke aligners. Each aligner needs to be worn for 1-2 weeks before moving on to the next one. During your treatment, you will visit your dentist every 6-8 weeks to check that treatment is going to plan and make any minor adjustments.

How long does the treatment take?

Treatment times very much depend upon your unique situation and complicacy of your scenario. The average time from start to finish is approximately 12-18 months but can be shorter for mildly crowded teeth.

What are the advantages of Invisalign?

The main advantages are aesthetics, oral hygiene, and comfort. Unlike traditional braces, clear aligners are nearly invisible and straighten teeth without unsightly metal brackets.

Invisalign aligners are easily removed, which means you can maintain a good oral hygiene regime without needing to work around the metal wires used with traditional braces.

With our commitment to comfort in mind, Invisalign is more gentle than conventional braces leaving you with a straighter, more confident smile.

Will I need to wear a retainer after treatment?

Yes. It is a naturally occurring phenomenon that teeth drift towards the front of the mouth, causing overcrowding. To maintain your perfect smile, you will need to wear a retainer to counteract this regularly. You will be provided with approximately 6 years’ worth of world-class retainers (Vivera by Invisalign) with any Invisalign package, as well as complementary home teeth whitening treatment.
