Tooth Extraction

Serene by Dr Safa provides pain and stress-free tooth removal in a comfortable, sensitive, and supportive environment in which to recover.

An extraction is a medical term for removing a tooth from the mouth. Extractions are a relatively routine dental procedure, and more often than not, teeth are extracted with little intervention. The process is completed using efficient and pain-free methods.

FEATURED ON:

Why do I need a tooth extracted?

Extractions are only necessary as a last resort when other restorative treatments have been excluded – this may be because a tooth is beyond repair by way of fillings, root treatments, or crowns, or sometimes teeth need to be removed because of chronic irreversible gum problems.

How long does it take to recover from tooth removal?

In most cases, it takes 3 to 4 days for residual soreness to cease. The length of time it takes to recover is dependent on the state of the surrounding tissue and effective aftercare. Over-the-counter pain medication should remedy any residual soreness.

What should I expect during my appointment?

All cases are treated individually, however, you should expect a detailed discussion to explain the procedure and any unlikely complications that may arise. You will be asked to sign a consent form. Once your consent is gained, and you understand what to expect, you will be given a local anaesthetic to numb the area – this is generally in the form of small injections. You’ll then be given time to relax whilst waiting for the anaesthetic to take effect before your dentist checks that the area is numb. You may feel a little pressure whilst the tooth is removed but no sensation of pain.

Can I be sedated during treatment?

We are pleased to offer the Enjoyable Dentistry Technique™, which is suitable for most of our patients. The Enjoyable Dentistry Technique™ involves sedation in the form of “Happy Air” (70% oxygen 30% nitrous oxide) – which will leave you feeling warm and relaxed, whilst we use mental imagery to help ease anxiety.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF ENDOLIFT?

Patients from Knightsbridge, Pimlico, Belgravia and throughout London are using Endolift treatment because:

  • Unlike surgical procedures, there’s no pain, incision or recovery time. Patients can return to work within a few hours
  • There’s no need for an anaesthetic
  • Results are immediate and long-term, like those results achieved through face-lift or other surgery
  • Endolift is beneficial to different areas in the body including face, neck and abdomen
  • Administered safely by Dr Safa who is highly trained and has much experience with Endolift

After your initial consultation in Knightsbridge, we will book you another appointment to begin the treatment for Endolift.

The micro-optical fibres will be gently inserted into the chosen area of your skin. The fibres create small channels beneath the skin which allow the laser beam energy to target fat and water in your body.

You may experience some slight discomfort as the laser energy moves through the channels, but this is minimal and shouldn’t last long.

You will notice results immediately and in the long term. This is because collagen will continue to build deep into the layers of the skin over time. Optimum results are seen about 6 months after treatment.
